Born from experience, continuously developed
Master – A History of Progress in HR and Talent Management
Master was founded in Denmark in 1985 by Bjarne Mønster, who brought many years of experience in leadership and global talent management, underpinned by his long management career at a leading international company.
Master expanded rapidly in Scandinavia and found its professional niche in 1988 with new operations in neighboring Sweden, as well as further expansions into Norway and Finland.
In the early years, Bjarne and his team focused primarily on talent management, coaching, and the development of existing employees and leaders. In addition, Master International undertook global mandates in executive search and the recruitment of new talent, while also developing unique analytical and assessment tools in areas such as typology, career interests, and more.
It soon became clear that to cope with the increasing demands in the HR sector, Master International needed a structured approach and a reliable tool that would support HR managers and strengthen their internal analysis processes.
The first version of MPP (Master Person Profile) was released in 1986 after five years of intensive development. Since then, MPP has been continuously evaluated, improved, documented, and adapted to new business requirements and modern technologies.
In the 1990s, Master International increasingly shifted its focus from traditional HR services and consulting to the development and documentation of analyses and tests in areas such as personality, skills, talents, cognitive competencies, and motivation.
Expansion into the rest of the European market quickly followed, as many large international companies sought better solutions to meet the growing demands in HR and talent management.
